The Filth Guildhall

One of the men grunts at you when you come back, and you notice he's carrying a mace. The other man, the one that talked to you before, is carrying a sword. He nods and they gesture toward the front door. Mace leads the way and Sword follows behind you. There seems to be some kind of tension in the air. Maybe nervousness? They lead you through the crowded district you've become so familiar with, the things you see no longer make you cringe. Undead litter the streets, carrying all manner of things around for living craetures. All of the buildings look dilapidated and in some state of decay. There are vendor stalls at every corner, salesmen barking about their wares. You've known for a time now that the Filth district is where one should come if they want something most others would consider evil or taboo. As you make your way through the streets, you come upon the guildhall.

The building is a gigantic mass of wood and metal, all rotting and rusted. The smell of death lingers upon this place. The physics of the building don't seem to make sense. The base is much more narrow than the top and it looks like it could topple over at any second. There are towers shooting off in every direction, topped with ramparts of metal spikes decorated with severed body parts. The entrance is a gigantic pair of doubledoors, and as you approach, the human guards on either side of them nod at Mace and sword. The guards each take a handle and pull the door open, and the smell of death slams into you like a cow in a tornado. The inside of this building is incredibly dank and musky, and you find it difficult to breathe, but your escorts seem to have no trouble. The walls inside are all stone, which seems strange, because outside you didn't once glimpse any masonry. Mace and Sword lead you down a dizzying series of stairs and hallways. You can't remember how many because you're battling to stay concious. Finally they come up to a large iron door with a sliding eye hatch. Mace slams his giant fist on the door three times, and you wait a few seconds. The hatch slides open, revealing a beady red eye and quickly shuts.

When the door opens, what you see almost makes you vomit. A man, or zombie, or whatever he is is standing before you. His skin is a sickly pale green, and a lorge portion of his flesh is missing from his right leg and arm, revealing muscle, and his arm ends in a sinister hook. He also has what appears to be a fetal creature attatched to his side. He looks as though he shouldn't be alive.

The man grins at you when you enter, and nothing about it looks kind. It looks evil and sinister.

Hello Varnel, my friend. I'm glad you're here. We must talk buisness. Come, come, sit down.

He gestures behind him where there is a large wooden desk and a chair at either side. He takes a seat on the opposite side and again gestures for you to sit. Looking around the room, you nitice books and files bunched into several large bookshelves. Mace and Sword stand on either side of the door inside the room, waiting, and you see now that being here makes them nervous.

My name is Mortiss Blacksoul.

another eery grin, and you swear you see something crawling under his skin.

We've been watching you varnel, and we like your work. We have need of your services.

He stares at you with his cold empty eyes and keeps on grinning.

The City of Archon

(Archon from the ocean)

The City of Archon; A bustling port city that is much more than it appears, full of diversity, wonder, and danger. A city ruled by the 7 guilds that call it home. A city where cash is king, and for the right price, you can find someone to take care of whatever problems you may have.

(You'll see many different races, and the districts are not limited to the races I list.)

You've also called Archon home for a time. You've grown familiar with the different guild-controlled districts, and learned a bit about what goes on in each.

(For your convenience, the districts have been labeled using each of the guilds' primary colors, for the most part. The larger shaped black buildings are guild halls if they are oval-shaped. Octagons represent mansions, usually belonging to the wealthy. Diamond shapes are lighthouses, and the wierdly shaped buildings are unique and will be explained later.)

The BROWN district is controlled by the Brotherhood of the Iron Fist, or The Brotherhood for short. From the time you've spent in the city, you know this is the most industrial district. The buildings here are all made of some kind of metal or grey stone. The sound of tools being used, hammers pounding anvils, the hiss metal being heated and then cooled, explosions, and you hear other machinery that you've never encountered. There are always piles of scrap metal and stone in the streets, waiting to be put to use. The races most encountered in this region consist mostly of Dwarves, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Minotaurs, Ogres, Goblins, and Humans. Members of The Brotherhood wear eart-colored tabards, lower ranking members usually weaing rock tones like grey and the higher ranking officers usually wear browns. Every tabard has the symbol for The Brotherhood.

If you want weapons, armor, explosives, or anything else that could be used in war, this is the place to come.

The RED district is controlled by the Hand of Filth. You've learned that Filth is a group of powerful undead and necromancers who provide two invauluable services to the city: Labor and a place to put the dead. They animate the recently deceased to make them productive members of society. Zombies and skeletons are common throughout the city as laborers. Some people are suspicious of filth and tend to avoid the district. The buildings all seem to be in a state of disrepear, with the wood that comprises them rotting away, the stones that make up the roads are chipped and worn. A very suitable place for the dead to dwell. Races here consist of humans, and at night, vampires and other intelligent undead. You also see many zombies and skeletons, and the occasional ghoul, ghast, or wight. The district also boasts shops that sell things you can't find anywhere else, things considered to fiendish or dark for the average person. you just have to know who to ask.

All guild members of The Hand of Filth wear tabards the color of bruises, and the higher ranking officers have tabards trimmed with the color of gore and blood. They all have the skull and gear symbol, to represent the combination of industry and undead.

The ORANGE district is controlled by The Sons of Razia. Most of the members of this guild server as the official city guard, although certain guilds have a few members patrolling their own territories. This district is also home to most of the inns and other places for travelers and foreigners to stay. Rumor has it that the Sons and Filth are secretly at war, with members of each mysteriously ending up dead in the others' territory, but there are no open accusations. People can end up dead in any section of the city if they aen't careful. The Sons of razia exist to protect the folk of Archon. They're all, for the most part, friendly and polite to passerby, but when someone gives them trouble, they respond quickly and with force. Most buildings are made of white marble, and many buildings are supported by pillars and/ or arches. Very roman-looking architecture. Races consist of Humans, Elves, and the occasional half-celestial. The guards all wear tabards of orange, and the higher ranking officers sport other colors associated with fire. They all display the symbol for the sons on their tabards as well.

The BLUE district is controlled by the Deep Ones. The Deep Ones are the professional sailors, marine biologists, hydromancers, and pretty much anone else who has anything to do with water. If you need anything involving the sea, this is the place to come. There are many scientists and scholars in the guild that wish to learn more about the mysteries of the sea, or to share their knowledge with others. The buildings here are all made from sea stones, driftwoods, and sometimes coral. Buildings extend into the ocean and to the underside of the island. The wharves, marinas, and docks are also part of the district. You can find humans, elves, half-races, merfolk, and a few other races here. All members of the guild of the Deep Ones wear tabards of blue, with lower ranking members leaning toward sky blues, and the high ranking officers wearing deep blues. All tabards dispaly an image of The Great Kraken, a creature buried in myth, but ever present in the minds of the cusious members of the guild.

The PURPLE district is controlled by the Agents of Artifice. These are the mages and inventors who use magic to give life to their creations. They rival The Brotherhood, in that The Brotherhood creates using technology and machinery, as opposed to the magic of the Agents. The distric gives off a hum of magic, one almost tangible, to anyone who enters. Various creations, contraptions and other experiments are on display, some evern moving or walking around the district. the buildings here look like those of Dalaran, for lack of better words. High above the city floats the Arcane Citadel (the triangles en masse toward the bottom of the district) where mages practice, train, create spells, and gods know what else. The Hall of Mirrors is toward the center of the district (The lare group or squares and rectangles) where the sick are brought for rapid treatment, and other experiments are conducted, and the cities portals lie. For the right price, you can end up anywhere. races here are the most diverse, as almost anyone can practice magic. The most interesting building by far, one that can be seen from the ocean, is Skytower. Here, mages are developing technology for airships, and the Order of Elune keep their flying creatures.

the Agents of Artifice wear tabards of deep purples, and the higher ranking officers have tabards trimmed with gold. each tabard displays the symbol of the agents, showing that magic is a powerful tool and weapon.

Finally, the GREEN district is controlled by the Order of Elune. This is the most natural of the districs, most of it still covered by the forest that naturally covered the island before its discovery. every tree in the forest is the size of a modern-day skyscraper. There are few individual buidings, but there are immendse monastaries and other buildings that have been build in enormous trees. Many different animals inhabit the forest, as well as elves, half elves, humans, fey and a few other races, many of whom are monks or druids. The half of the skytower in the Order's district is used to keep their flying animals and other creatures. the buildings are all made of wood and are somehow linked to the trees around them, whethere they are located at their tops or the base of their trunks. The Order of Elune and the Deep Ones work together to study nature and animals of both the land and the sea. Members of the guild wear tabards of green, all with the symbol of Elune.

The YELLOW district is controlled by the Golden Kings, and it is the trade district. The bazaar is located here, and you can find almost anything you could want. The merchants here are all guild members, and wear gold and platinum colored tabards with a symbol displaying the magic and wonder in the items they provide
